Activated Carbon Filters - Extra Filtration for London Tap Water

We use high-grade quality Pentek Filters ®.

The activated carbon inside is derived from coconut shells.
Which are then baked to remove impurities. High pressure steam sets the compound into activated charcoal. The final result is a filtration medium that is highly porous. One granule alone exposes a surface area exceeding that of a public swimming pool.

Granular activated carbon filters are outstanding at removing toxins, disinfectants and by-products. GAC filters vastly improve the taste and aroma of drinking water. Our filters remove the bad stuff - while allowing the good stuff through ie electrolytes and essential trace minerals such as:

  • Zinc
  • Potassium

For water to be drinkable tiny traces of these and other elements need to be present. Otherwise water becomes unsuitable for human consumption. Trace minerals give water its body and taste. GAC filters remove:
Chlorine
The main disinfectant added to public water

THMs
